Being a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) should no longer be an option, but mandatory,
regardless if it is required by an Insurance Company or not. At Motivations Behavioral Services,
LLC (MBS, LLC), we put in the necessary time and effort to work with each individual who is
employed with us and does not already have his/her RBT, to become certified. The job of a RBT
is crucial because this individual is working directly with a client and spending a lot of time with
them, it is the RBT who is assisting the Supervisor at times by completing direct observations
and assessments; completing data collection; and reporting any new challenging behaviors to
the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). MBS, LLC believes in setting up each employee for
success and not just telling them to watch a bunch of videos and then having some random
BCBA sign off on the Competency Assessment.

At MBS, LLC we want Therapists to not just have an idea about their job, but truly understand
what they are doing and why. We want clients to be confident that the individuals working with
their family member is a qualified Therapist and not just someone who is there to behave like a
childcare provider or respite worker. The harsh reality is that too many companies will say that
their Therapists are qualified and have experience, only to find out that the individual has no
experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Behavior Therapy and their experience comes
from working in a Day Care, Social Work setting, or something not even related to child care.
Companies tend to say that their Therapists are trained, when in reality the Therapist may have
only shadowed another Therapist for a few days and then is left to figure things out. This is
clearly unacceptable and may be cause for an unethical situation because it may do more harm
than good for a client.

MBS, LLC believes that Behavior Development Solutions (BDS) 40-Hour RBT Readiness Course
2.2 is one of the best Training Courses available. Each Therapist is assigned to a BCBA who then
assigns them a certain amount of modules to complete each week and is there to observe and
guide as needed. On-the-job Training is also provided by either a Senior RBT or a BCBA. Upon
completion of the modules both acquisition and fluency and the final post-test if the Therapist
is ready to sit for the exam then and only then will a BCBA work with said Therapist on
completing the Competency Assessment. Upon sitting for the RBT Exam and passing, MBS, LLC
reimburses the individual and within 30 days provides that individual with a fairly nice increase
in pay.

At MBS, LLC we value the individuals who are working with our clients and therefore we want
to provide them with the best course of action necessary in order for them to obtain the
education, skills, and experience as they work toward becoming a RBT.
